Welcome to "The Faithful Departed", a blog dedicated to the film for which the living legend, Martin Scorsese, won his first Academy Award. "The Departed" won four Oscars all together, nominated for five including: Best Picture (Won, Graham King), Best Director (Won, Martin Scorsese), Best Editing (Won, Thelma Schoonmaker), Best Adapted Screenplay (Won, William Monahan), and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Nominated, Marky Mark...er Mark Wahlberg).

In present-day Boston, two men find themselves on opposite sides of the law. William Costigan is a cop deep undercover to nail Boston's most notorious mob boss, Frank Costello; and Colin Sullivan is a mole for Costello within the Massachusetts state police. When it becomes more apparent that each organization has a rat in the house, both Costigan and Sullivan must expose the other as an informant while keeping their own identities hidden.
